The stories crisscross the city with a dynamism and ebullience while sharing an intimacy and humanity of his subjects, to create a more complex, humorous, and personal portrait of Baltimore than has rarely ever been achieved. "The composite result is a paean to a rust-belt city..in all its quirky glory," praises Karen Houppert, former Village Voice and Baltimore City Paper editor.
